Sevens World Cup Win for Pro-Active!
Pro-Active is pleased to announce they have been appointed by the International Rugby Board to act as television managers for one of the most prestigious events in the world rugby calendar. The IRB Sevens Rugby World Cup will be held in Dubai in March 2009 and having generated record-breaking coverage for the last RWC7s in Hong Kong in 2005, Pro-Active expect to make the Dubai event the world’s most watched rugby competition outside of the Rugby World Cup itself. This follows on the three-year appointment as television partners to the International Rugby Board for their 7s World Series, for which they have also generated record exposure, year on year for the last four years.
Pro-Active will represent and negotiate international television rights to the event as well as co-ordinate the on-site live production which, with the announced backing of Emirates Airlines and the building of an entirely new rugby stadium, looks set to be a spectacular presentation of this increasingly popular sport.
“This is another compliment to the work done by our team on a range of IRB rugby events but particularly the Sevens which continues to go from strength to strength”, said Tommasina Kay, the director in charge of rugby for Pro-Active Television. “Sevens is an amazing rugby spectacle and will guarantee excellent crowds in Dubai so we will be working to ensure this is best ever TV presentation for a worldwide audience.”

Return to the Desert - Again!
For the third consecutive year Pro-Active has been appointed as the official television production partner of the UAE Desert Challenge, the sixth and final round of the 2007 FIA Cross-Country Rally World Cup and the traditional dressrehearsal for the Dakar Rally. Following the prologue in Dubai and the actual start in Abu Dhabi, a total of five legs covering 1,520 special-stage kilometres through the United Arab Emirate desert between 28th October and 2nd November are on the agenda. After a total of 2,443 kilometres the teams are expected at the finish in Dubai on Friday 2nd November.
The deal was agreed with event founder and organizer Mohammed Ben Sulayem, himself a 14-times Middle East Rally Champion. ProActive crews will be on-site to follow the onstage action and conduct aerial filming. Utilising our own computer-based flyaway facilities, our crew will then cut daily satellite news bulletins for international distribution via global TVnews agencies and will work closely with Dubai TV to facilitate live local-territory coverage of the event start and finish.
